Another beautiful morning on the North Shore… blue skies… scattered
clouds… gentle breeze! In anticipation of the swell that will be
arriving in this evening, I had to get out and paddle this morning. My
wife went out at first light (hey, ladies first) and came back to tell
me there were some little waves out there. With 0 ft. surf forcasted
for the North Shore in the AM, it was a treat to find knee to chest
high waves, and nobody out! I left the leash in the car, rode waves
solo for an hour and came in. The wind picked up a little but it just
pushed up the faces, so that was nice. Here’s today’s lesson: If you
ever score a solo session and decide to go ‘no leash’, and the wind is
blowing, get ready for a swim. After a wipe-out I was chasing the board
for ever. The wind decided to tease me today and kept blowing the
board down the coast just out of reach while I was limp-swimming after
it with my paddle in hand. The wind has to have its fun too. Peace. www.SUPsurfMag.com …100% Pure Stoke!
