Surfboard manufacturer and surf apparel company, Rusty, recently released its first stand up paddle surfboard. With team riders that include Derek Ho, Jamie O'Brian, Kalani Chapman, Kawika Stillwell and others, Rusty has long been a proponent of high performance surfing. The addition of the first stand up paddleboard to team quiver, such as Rusty's, is somewhat a momentous occasion. The next question would be, "Who on the Rusty team is going to represent the stand up equipment or are they looking for SUP team riders?" The new equipment looks like a lot of fun. They are available in 6-inch increments from 10'0" to 12'0" and widths from 27 1/2" to 30+" and feature a full template, what they refer to as mega-full rails, and a flat deck. The boards are custom ordered so you can get exactly what you're looking for. According to the Rusty Blog, "...and for all you hellmen (and women) out there pushing the sport of stand up paddling by surfing huge and dangerous waves, make sure you have a RUSTY SUP under your feet!" They're claiming the boards to be able to handle some juice. We can't wait for some photos. For more on the new Rusty stick visit the blog here or the team website here .
