2009 East Coast Paddleboard Championships, Ponce Inlet, FL PDF Print E-mail

On Saturday July 18, the starting gun will sound at 9am for the 13th Annual East Coast Paddleboard Championships at Ponce Inlet, FL (next to Daytona Beach).

Watermen and Waterwomen from up and down the East Coast will descend on Ponce Inlet to determine the 2009 East Coast Paddleboard Champion.

Board classes will be broken up by Men and Wahine’s and also by board discipline and size.

Stock, 10’6, 14’ and unlimited prone paddleboard classes including Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Classes 12ft and under and over 12ft.

In 2008 over 40 paddlers competed and record numbers are expected to vie this year for the 2009 Championship.

Registration begins at 7:30am at 4469 S. Atlantic Ave, Ponce Inlet, FL and start is at 9am sharp.

A $25.00 donation entry fee includes race t-shirt and participation trophy.

Championship trophies will also be awarded to the top 5 finishers in each class.

Race will be an ocean start in front of 4469 S. Atlantic Ave heading North to the North side of Sun Glow Pier and back for a distance of 6.5 miles. Race concludes with a beach sprint finish.

**Sponsors for the event are: BARK OCEAN and Paddleboards, MADDOG Surfboards, LESLIE RULES and THE EAST COAST PADDLE BOARD ASSOCIATION.
