It's just around the corner again folks, the 2nd Annual Cold Stroke Classic stand up paddle race presented by Coastal Urge and sponsored by Kialoa. This year the date is set  for January 9th, 2010 right in the dead of winter in North Carolina.

This year's race features both an Elite and a Recreational Class with a $2500 cash purse for the Elite Class and $5000 in prizes for the Recreational Class including a Laird stand up paddle board donated by Surftech. 

The pre-race banquet will be Friday, January 8th at Dockside Restaurant in Wilmington, NC featuring a special presentation by Chuck Patterson - big waves stand up paddler and winner of the 2008 Battle of the Paddle.  

Registration for Recreational Division is $35 and Elite is $65. Fees include pre-race banquet and race jersey. Additional pre-race dinners $10.

All proceeds to benefit the Surfrider Foundation.
