Santa Cruz will be rocking for four full days of kayak and stand up paddle excitement from March 20-22nd as stand up paddlers are invited to join in this year's competition. The events begin on Thursday, March 19th at Steamer Lane. The festivities begin on Thursday night with a kick off party presented by Adventure Sports Unlimited, Teva, and Class V Surf Dogs.

Throughout the events, clinics will be held and expert kayakers and stand up paddlers will be on hand to answer questions and help new paddlers have a successful introduction to the sport. The question of whether stand up paddlers will be required to wear PFDs in the contest has been answered "no", however helmets are required.
