Dave Kalama and Rob Machado made guest appearances at the showing of Waterman at the historic Paloma theatre in Encinitas, CA. Lucky for us, we happened to be in town and were able to cruise over and check it out. The video is an awesome surf advernture film to benefit SurfAid International. SurfAid International is a non-profit humanitarian organization to improve the health and well-being of people living in isloated regions connected to us through surfing.
The film showing was complete with a raffle, poster signings, a killer film and plenty of hooting and hollering accentuated the evening. With a theatre spilling over with stoke, attendees reflected back on the old days when the same theatre would be packed with surfers as it was on this evening, everyone eagerly awaiting a mind-surfing field trip through glassy days and hollow waves.
The film was created to benefit SurfAid International and covers an
epic trip to Indonesia with Dave Kalama, Rob Machado, Laird Hamilton,
Gerry Lopez, and Keith, Chris and Dan Malloy. The boys ride everything,
from stand up paddle surfboards to tow in foil boards. The filming is
unreal and the cause for which the film was created is helping
thousands and thousands of families worldwide. Be sure to check in at www.surfaidinternational.org for more info.
