Destination 3 Degrees Well Received at Santa Barbara International Film Festival |

Stand up paddle feature gaining critical and audience praise and gets a screening added to the festival calendar. (Santa Barbara, CA) - The stand up paddle documentary film, Destination 3 Degrees, directed by Chris Aguilar had it’s first test among the Santa Barbara International Film Festival moviegoers and emerged with audience and critical praise. The film that follows Morgan Hoesterey and Jenny Kalmbach’s journey across the Hawaiian island chains is the first movie to feature stand up paddle and is in the Festival’s To The Maxx sidebar. In a roundup of the To The Maxx sidebar, the Santa Barbara Independent called Destination 3 Degrees, an “ inspiring and occasionally harrowing documentary film”. Said another critic at the first showing “I loved this movie”. While at the festival, Director Chris Aguilar with Blueline Paddle Surf and Bark Paddle Boards held a plastic trade in and stand up paddle demo where participants were able to take home stainless steel, reusable water bottles from Sovereign Earth and Ecousable as well as reusable grocery bags to go with the film’s message about the issue of plastics in the ocean. This message is delivered from Captain Charles Moore, founder of Algalita Marine Research Foundation.
The Festival has granted Destination 3 Degrees an additional screening at the famed Lobero Theatre located at: 33 East Canon Perdido Street Santa Barbara, CA 93101 on Monday January 31st at 10pm In addition the film will end it’s run at the festival with a performance on February 1 at the Metro 4 at 10am. Director Chris Aguilar will be on hand at both of the remaining screenings for questions.
