HONOLULU - Oxbow along with Na Kama Kai have joined forces in an effort to support three local causes, Kid's Heart Project For Children, victims of the tsunami in Japan, and local families in need, with a free family fun movie night at Kam Drive In in Aiea on September 4, 2011 from 7pm to 10pm.
Oxbow will present the local movie feature Walls Of Perception that highlights local professional surfers. Shot on location in the Hawaiian Islands, France, Tahiti, Australia, and elsewhere, the film brings the surfers talents together in the Marshall Islands where current Stand Up Paddle World Champion Kai Lenny is seen charging 40-plus-foot faces at Pe'ahi and current ASP World Longboard Champion Duane DeSoto shows the audience that big boards fit nicely inside of exotic tubes.
Autograph signings, prizes and featured professional surfing athletes will be at the event. There is a $10 parking fee and gates will open at 5:30pm with Walls of Perception starting at 7pm.
About Oxbow: Founded in France in 1985, Oxbow was born from the meeting of boardsports aficionado Fabrice Valéri and fashion stylist Isabelle Cachot. The brand was developed alongside the greatest athletes, like Laird Hamilton, pioneer of tow-in surfing, kitesurf, foilsurfing or more recently stand-up paddle surfing. For 25 years, Oxbow has never stopped exploring new territories and following riders on their craziest projects. Thanks to their close contact with these athletes, who cover all disciplines (surf, snow, kite, freestyle skiing or windsurfing), from the very beginning Oxbow has created products that combine quality, technicality and creativity. Giving riders the chance to live their passion for boardsports, without restraints and respecting their playground, Nature. This is Oxbow's raison d'être. Because nature will always be stronger than humanity.
