Aloha everyone, wow, do we have an exciting weekend here on the North Shore!
SURF-N-SEA is hosting a phenomenal 2 day SUP demo on both Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. Everyone who attends will have to opportunity to try the latest models of C4, Surftech and Southpoint stand up paddle boards. There will be clinics conducted by elite waterman like Brian Keaulana and Derek Doerner. This will be a fantastic opportunity to pick up tips and ask the leaders of our sport any questions you have!
Since Surf-n-Sea is so graciously hosting this event we thought would take a moment to tell you a little more about this classic North Shore surf and SUP shop
Nestled in the corner where the Anahulu River meets Haleiwa harbor and just past the famous Rainbow Bridge, stands a historic two story building that was built in 1921. It has been the home of SURF-N-SEA since 1965. Located on Kamehameha Hwy, the shop enjoys an ideal location. It is well known and patronized by both visiting and local surfers alike.
Haleiwa town itself is well known to the surf world. It is the start of the 7 mile miracle stretch and is home to world famous surf spots like Pipeline, Sunset beach and Waimea Bay. Of course no surf town would be complete without a classic surf shop and SURF-N-SEA succeeds in spectacular fashion!
The owner, Joe Green, is dedicated to providing the finest products available to ocean lovers. Whether you surf, scuba dive or stand up paddle, this shop has it all. The sales staff is extremely friendly and helpful. It is wonderfully refreshing how much pride they take in their customer service and product knowledge.
As you enter the shop you immediately feel like a kid in a candy store! You can find enough boards, paddles, videos, fins, leashes, etc to fill your heart content and there is always a friendly staff member on hand to assist you. Regardless of skill level they enough inventory to satisfy even the most discerning surfers!
Directly behind the store is a semi private bay that is an ideal location for teaching eager stoked beginners the art of stand up paddling. In this calm bay, instructors like Adam Lux, conduct SUP lessons. Adam does an excellent job of teaching first time stand up paddlers all about safety, boards, paddles, proper technique and displaying the aloha spirit.
As SUP continues to enjoy incredible growth, Surf-n-Sea is taking a proactive approach in education and growing our beloved sport in positive direction. This weekends demo days will provide SUP enthusiasts of all levels a chance to take part in board & Paddle demos, clinics conducted by the world’s best SUP surfers, with Q & A afterwards and a drawing with killer prizes!
