Maui Olukai Ho'olaule'a SUP and OC1 Races Print

With part of the proceeds to benefit Hawaii's Junior Lifeguard Program and Maui Cultural Lands Olukai Ho'olaule'a stand up paddle and OC1 race is set to take place May 16-17 starting at Maliko Bay and finishing at Kahana Beach Park on the island of Maui. Stand up paddle divisions are scheduled to run on th Sunday, May 17th with a 12:00pm start time. The 8 mile course includes a straight run with a 180 degree buoy turn and a 300 yard beach run finish in front of Lae 'Ula O Kai Canoe Club.

 

This event includes both male and female divisions with both elite and recreational divisions. Olukai.com defines the elite competitors those who are experienced and competitive watermen and waterwomen. Elite competitors qualify for prize money without age, board length or rudder restrictions. Prize money for elite divisions is outlined as follows and is equal for both male and female divisions...

6th $225
 
Recreational  paddlers compete in age groups for trophy and gift awards in two divisions: Open and under 14' Fixed Fin. Entry fee includes luau dinner from 3-6pm. Non-competitors can also purchase luau tickets at the event for $10 if available.
