The British Stand Up Paddle Surfing Association (BSUPA.org) just recently announced their 2009 contest series dates and locations. Stand up paddling has taken a strong foothold in the U.K. and BSUPA has been part of sport's progression for quite some time now. After a successful series in 2008, this year promises to be bigger and better than the last. Stand up paddle events are scheduled as follows:

May 2-3: West Wittering, West Sussex

June 5-6: Gwithian, Cornwall

September 19-20: Swansea/Gower

October 17-18: Watergate, Newquay

According to the BSUPA website, contest rules and additional details about the events will be released in early April. Last years, series winners included: Neal Gent, Claire Blacklock, Bobby Cooper, and John Hibbard.  For detailed 2008 stand up paddle race results, visitwww.bsupa.org.
