So after not doing too good of a job installing one section of the pad on my new PSH 9-6 All Arounder, I searched around for the best way to remove the pad. Common sense tells me to avoid heat around plastic so I thought "OK I'll try WD40!" So, I peeled off the old pad (it came off pretty easily) and then sprayed the WD40 over the old glue patches and gently used a plastic wax scraper. The WD40 loosened the glue and it came off pretty easily with a rag. Then, I got Windex and cleaned the area up about 3 times - using a new cloth each time - and reapplied some new traction. For an older deck pad, I think that gently peeling up a corner of the pad and spraying WD40 will make the process go faster. Just make sure to thoroughly clean the board before applying the new pad because WD40 is a cleaner and hence somewhat oily. I wouldn't use a metal blade anywhere near the board and again, I think heat is something to be avoided also.

Thanks for the tip. That 3M backing on the PSH boards is super-sticky! I've been able to pull up other pads with getting tugs, but not the PSH pads. They stay put. Personally, I wish I tried your WD40 trick about a year ago when I had to get a pad off. What a nightmare!
