Hello all, my name is Rob, RJ, Bear, or Big Poppa you take your pick. I am from the NEO...North East Ohio, which I am sure all of you know isn't the most popular spot for any kind of surfing.

Well I just got back from a couple of weeks in Hawaii and I am a little hooked on SUP. But being for the mid-west, I have a question. What kind of board should I get? I am 6'1" and fat...yes I said it. Currently I am down to 315 lbs. and I am still losing. I managed to get up both paddling and normally for a few waves. But I think with my size a bigger board might be a help. Also, since I am in Ohio most of my time will be on flat water and catching a few waves (I hope) up on Lake Erie when it storms. So I need to work that into the thoughts of what kind of board to get.

One other thing, are there any good places online to get a used or decently priced board? I have been checking and so far haven't really found one that meets what I need. Mahalo for the help.
